"Coffee Break" Fine Art Puzzle
"Coffee Break" Fine Art Puzzle
Carmen painted "Coffee Break" in 1981 following his final moose hunting trip with his father and two siblings, Lyman, who was pouring coffee, and Joe, who was bending over for a coffee mug. Simon, his father, has his back to us and only wore his bright orange jacket for hunting. The tractors depicted in the artwork were the farm's two operating tractors.
Carmen's father and brother, Lyman, both died of cancer, therefore this painting holds special meaning for him. Fall hunting trips were a family tradition for many Peace Country families who grew up on the farm.
